About
Future Paths Consulting is a small employability consultancy supporting universities to create impactful solutions for their students and graduates, enabling employers to engage strategically with graduate talent, and equipping students with the tools needed to thrive in today’s competitive UK job market.
My Story
I’ve experienced various roles across the UK higher education sector over the last 13 years, within both academia and professional services. As a result, I’ve developed well-rounded expertise in the careers and employability space alongside insights into the priorities of students, graduates, Faculty staff, programme management staff, department and Faculty leadership, and key external stakeholders including employers and corporate partners.
My core objectives are to facilitate university to workplace transitions and bring stakeholders together to create real impact – with the common thread of ‘future paths’. I offer a bespoke approach to each client whether you’re a student seeking CV guidance, a careers service designing an alumni workshop, or an
employer interested in university partnerships.

Emma’s Bio
(Founder & Director)
I bring 13 years of experience within UK higher education to Future Paths Consulting.
My skills drew from blended experience across both academic and professional services roles with the common theme of careers and employability. From designing and delivering employability curriculum to hundreds of students, to producing research publications in the field of graduate employability, to contributing to a careers service within a top five UK university (including work-based learning initiatives), I provide well-rounded expertise to my clients. Having worked across four different universities, both Russell Group and non-Russell Group, my advice is also contextual and pragmatic.
Prior to my higher education career, I gained experience in recruitment and freelance CV writing. I hold bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from a UK Russell Group university, alongside a PhD focused on exploring the employability of business and management graduates in the UK job market. I also possess postgraduate qualifications in careers guidance and higher education practice.
I’m an Advance HE Fellow, and I hold memberships of the Association of Graduate Careers Advisory Services (AGCAS) and the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development (CIPD).
